Qigong |
Qigong means Energy
(Qi or Chi) Work (Gong or Kung). There are literally hundreds
of Qigong styles from many different origins, styles, and
families. These health and martial exercises were originaly
developed hundreds of years ago by Chinese Taoist monks.
Qigong is the most basic training for all complete martial
art systems, whether the focus is self-defense or health.
It is beneficial to the cardiovascular, respiratory and lymphatic
systems. It develops strength, flexibility and coordiantion
in the legs, waist and spine. In general, health oriented
Qigong is easier to learn than related arts like T'ai Chi
Ch'uan and Bagua Zhang.
