Sifu will be hosting an  'All Students, All Arts, Open Class'  Thursday from 5:30-6:30pm all students from  all the arts are welcome to attend- call or email to reserve a space please!

World T'ai Chi Day Demonstration
Beacon Field, Greenfield, MA
4/26/2008 9:30-11:30am

last year went really well, with about 35 students in attendance with
8-10 brand new students, all participating in this marvelous health
maintenance art, T'ai Chi Ch'uan. The weather started out a bit iffy and
then once we started our 'round', the sun came out in full force.... it
was beautiful!

We hope you will join us this year from 9:30 - 11:30am. This event is open to the public and we encourage people who have never done T'ai Chi before, to those who have been practicing for a lifetime to attend.

Modern Arnis Rank Testing Results

CONGRATULATIONS!

On Wed. April 25, 2007, a Modern Arnis evaluation was held at the J.R.Roy Martial Arts Studio. The evaluation that lasted for several hours resulted in the following promotions:

Doug Grote – Yellow Belt
David Raphael – Yellow Belt with Honorable Mention in Basics
Jeff Roberts – Purple Belt
Phil Ringwood – Double Promotion to 1st Degree Brown Belt

Members of the board included Master J.R. Roy, Mr. Jason Kratz, Mr.Norm Levesque, Ms. Marcia Gobeil, Mr. Justin Lively and Mr. Luke Smith 

Two staff members were also promoted by Master J.R.Roy:

Jason Kratz – 3rd degree Black Belt
Marcia Gobeil – 2nd degree Black Belt

America Karate-Do Testing Results

In a 4 and a half hour Testing for Belt Ranking in American Karate-Do, held on Monday Dec 18th at the J R. Roy Martial Arts Studio, several area students received Rank promotions.About 35 parents and friends were there to witness the testing and the promotions.

Scott Miner of Greenfield received a Yellow Belt, and David Raphael of Conway received a Blue Belt. Norman Dupuis of Reading, VT received a Green Belt while his son, Luke Dupuis received a Green Belt with Honorable Mention Overall.

Gary Marsden and Justin Peterson-New, both of Greenfield, received Brown Belts. Teryn Citino of Shutesbury, John Gundelfinger of Gill also received Brown Belts. Colleen Golrick of Millers Falls received a First degree Brown Belt and Jesse Stone of Bernardston received a First degree Brown Belt with Honorable Mention in Sparring.

Colin Fredericks of Sunderland received a Probationary Black Belt.

Master J. R. Roy, 8th Dan of Leyden and Mr. Tom Sokol, 4th Dan of Pottsdam NY, also promoted the following students to higher degrees of Black Belt; Mr. Jason Kratz of Greenfield to 5th Dan, Mr. Norm Levesque of Greenfield to 3rd Dan, Mr. John Sullivan of Springfield, VT to 3rd Dan, Mr. Jeff Chaisson of Greenfield to 2nd Dan and Ms. Sharon McGuinness of Saco, ME to 2nd Dan.

Members of the Testing Board included Master Roy, Mr. Jason Kratz, Mr.
Tom Sokol, Mr. Norm Levesque, Mr. John Sullivan, Mr. Jeff Chaisson and
Ms. Sharon McGuinness.
